Catch 22 is the term given when a user can not win no matter what they do.
Catch-22, (wikipedia) coined by Joseph Heller in his novel Catch-22, is a logical paradox arising from a situation in which an individual needs something that can only be acquired by not being in that very situation; therefore, the acquisition of this thing becomes logically impossible. Catch-22s are often spoken with regard to rules, regulations, procedures, or situations in which one has knowledge of being or becoming a victim but has no control over it occurring.
As the site becomes more popular the more likely it could be that is is subjected to Web site Submission Spam and Duplicate Content. This could have a negative impact on things like Goggle Page Rank®
This may appear to occur during web site promotion. In that the more you promote a web site the more Spammy that web site will be seen as and the less likely it is to be listed, it could even get banned form being listed.
Without the visitors you are unlikely to generate any sales and without sales you are unlikely to be able to advertise and increase visitors that could bring you more sales.
Advice: Be careful. This appeared to be mainly related to Organic Search Engine Promotion. Do not use Black Hat Methods of promotion
