Conversion Rate Advertising Methods

This is related to Return On Investment. Some advertising method or even some different search engines may result in a higher level of sales for the number of visitors that a particular method or site delivers to your web page. A high level of conversion is usually preferable. That is a method which results in a higher level of sales to the number of visitors.

Conversion Rate may not be just sales it could include how many users you get to opt-in and increase your list to a newsletter for example.

The Conversion Rate of any visitors you receive is just as important as the number of  visitors you receive. The better the conversion rate the more items, (or actions take place, sign-ups, etc) for the amount you have to spend. Therefore a higher conversion rate will result in better value for money you spend on promotion your products and services. Another way to say this is to say your visitor numbers remain the same but your sales increase.

The conversion rate can be biased on a number of factors including; good copywriting, (website navigation and layout), how easy it is for your users to understand what they are receiving for their money, the level of customer services, they will receive, (on-line help, ways to contact you in case of difficulty), how easy it is for them to actually pay for the item using on-line shopping cart links, delivery times and delivery methods, returns and refund policies.

If you are selling to foreign users then other factors may apply including the natural language of your website correspondence, customs and extra delivery times and delivery methods, returns and refund policies, and currency conversion rates and on-line shopping cart links ability to handle payments. Other issues may also apply; Voltages , (PAL, (Phase Alternating Line), or NTSC, (National Television System Committee), television format for example). Translation links.

Advice: Check your Traffic Statistics and compare these with the level of sales and the level of investment made to promote your product or service. Users may wish to view your offers in relation with other offers therefore it could take a number of visits before a sale is made.

The conversion rate doesn't tell it all. Some users may call to place orders which are not indicated in the conversion rate and others may bookmark the site and purchase  at a later date.

Also note that any conversion rate could be as low as and 1 in 7, or 1 in 100. How often do you go to the shops a look without actually buying? Even when you are looking, Targeted, for that product. This could be very significant if you are using Pay per Clicks, PPC and Cost Per Click, CPC.

Some users have stated that 2% conversion? I wish that were the case. I'm lucky to get 0.8% with PPC. In a  month they've had 48,691 impressions and a click through rate of 3.6% with a conversion rate of 0.62%. 

As stated watch out for Click Fraud. Maybe Affiliated Marketing, Pay Per Action, (pay commission on each sale) will be a better option, when you consider the budget being spent on No Sales.

The level of customer services, they will receive, (on-line help, ways to contact you in case of difficulty), and currency conversion rates. Remember that conversion rates are just as important as the levels of visitors you receive. Of cause you need to receive visitors before any conversion can take place.

Good copywriting may improve your conversion rate.

An improved conversion rate can be improved by good WOM, Word Of Mouth advertising.
