CPM - Cost per Milli = Cost Per thousand times your advertisement is display. An example; if a site can produce 1,000,000 banner advertisements showings (impressions) of your advertisement at $1.00 per CPM. One million impressions is 1,000 CPMs. So at $1.00 per CPM it could cost you $1,000.00 plus any service charge. This method is quite often used to display banner advertisements on a website.
Advice: This could be worthwhile. May not produce be immediate results, or website results, (could encourage off-line sale more). Although the numbers of people who actually click on the banner advertisements may be less that with other methods, the people who do may be more interested in your offer and this could result in a higher conversion, (sales), rate. Note that a user may not click on the banner even when they view it. Therefore it would be possible for your advertisement to be displayed a lot of times compared with the number of times users click on the advertisement an view your website. The site displaying the banner advertisement would need to generate a high level of visitors or the banner could be displayed on a number of websites to increase the number of times it is viewed.
