Some things to think about when picking URL's, (Uniform Resource Locator, a web site address, a domain name).

The URL and title of the site are the some of most important things to help get high "Organic" listings.

In addition the URL and title should relate to the content of the site.

Therefore your domain name should contain the Keyword, Keyword Phrases that you would like users to find your web site for, these could be Long Tail keywords.

Make sure that the domain name can make users think about the product or service you are trying to promote and what your web site is about even before they read any description etc...

Advice: Recommended for increasing organic search engine listing results and a higher listing for keywords in the domain name.

If you move change URL's then it is advisable if possible to Redirects. Redirecting URL's to point to the new domain name.

If you are unable to find a domain name that includes you keywords that ne something totally unique and a bit off-the-wall could work. For example if you think of Yahoo you probably thinks about cheering cowboys but not about a search engine. The name Yahoo has become known as a search engine thanks to Branding.

Some search engines may base ranking, etc on whether or not they are within the same IP Range as other domains that link to them.

Class C Checker Tool allows you to check if some sites are hosted on the same Class C IP Range.

This Class C Checker may be used in these cases:

1. You own several cross-linked sites: it may be more efficient (for SEO purposes) to host them on different Class C IP ranges (this is only an advice, not a must do)
2. You're going to get new links from different sites check if they share the same class C IP range

There is sometimes more benefit in having links from different hosting DNS addresses.  C Class Backlink Analyzer. This tool investigates the links pointing to a web site (back links), and groups them according to the C-Class IP addresses they come from. For example, if one back link comes from 53.25.14.5 and another comes from 53.25.14.6, they would be grouped together.
