Google do not like people exchanging links, or buying links, just to try to improve Google PageRank®. Google PageRank® is partly based on who links to you. If someone finds their site and follows a link to your site then the Page Rank doesn't matter you still get a person finding your web site. Advice: This is worthwhile if you are willing to add good links back on your site. Exchanging links can improve your rating with some search engines and improve traffic to your site. Therefore exchanging links directly with a site which directly links back to your may not benefit in search engine ranking. Linking back to a different site owned by the person who links to you may be more effective.

Exchanging links should not be carried out with the aim of improving Google PageRank® of a web site. It should more thought of as providing useful content to your web site. You link to a web site because it has useful information.

We do not recommend paying to exchange links. There are some who state that Google do not like to list web site which have paid for links, and may even remove the Google PageRank® of those sites.
