There are some quite good ezines which do provide useful information to users.

The problem is that there are also a lot of poor quality ones which are very similar to Spam emails and mainly just list a number of websites without any meaningful content.. Some systems post these ezines out far too often and as with opt-in email, Safe Lists and other Bulk email methods (Spam) they may never be read because they are automatically deleted.

Ezines tend to email HTML pages which appear like a website in a users email inbox. These ezines can be quite large and users may not like this method if they are paying for telephone time to receive them. Also some email accounts are able to block emails that are over a certain size.

Check that you do not commit libel, slander or plagiarism

Remember users may wish to printout your ezine to produce a hard copy for reading off-line. You should therefore include at least one full URL, e.g. http://www.agreatportal.com so that users who read the hard copy it in the future can find your website.

When adding hyperlinks make sure you use absolute links e.g. http://www.acomputerportal.com/advertising_methods/index.html, and not just
relative hyperlinks, advertising_methods.html, as these may fail.

May or May not produce be immediate results, (a story may need to be put on hold if more important news needs to be published). May encourage off-line sale more.

If in placed, or copied, in print or on television then customers may not wish or be able to log on to any website at that time . Therefore you may need to provide other forms of contact.

May only result in short term interest in you products but could also result in completely new customers who you may not be able to contact normally.
