Image Advertising Methods

As computer power, speed, graphics and audio power has improved multimedia computers have made significant progress. Some images may be passed on to other users and become a form of viral advertising.   Make sure you use images within your web pages use Alt Tags. (There are still a lot of web sites that fail to use the alt tag for images). Also adjusting image sizes to the smallest required of RAW images and modify image types ,(jpg, gif, etc.) to result in quickest possible image load times.

Not adjusting image sizes to the smallest usable can slow page load times. Speed of image loading could become more important as more and more image exist on the web. A Web user does not have to wait to download a large file before seeing the image for this reason Consider using Thumbnail of images..

Read the Page Load Speed sections. Just imaging all the bandwidth used think of Google who serve Millions of pages a day, and even more images.

You are advised to use alt tags with images. Typical alt tag simple example, with the alt tags highlighted in bold:-

You can use analytics to track images, but take notice of Unique Visitors vs Hits.

Check that you do not commit libel, slander or plagiarism.

Allow for users who may not have good eyesight or may be colour blind.
