This is where the, (usually), top right hand corner,
(other corners are sometimes used), of this page appears to have a curled fold
displaying part of what appears under the main page.
This may appear like a Dog Ear page fold some people mark the pages in a book while
reading a story.
Usually the fold is moving so that the user is able to view part of what is underneath the main page.
If the users is attracted, (curiosity), to the page underneath then as they move the mouse pointer over the folded corner the fold gets larger,
smooth roll-down, revelling more of what's underneath. The user may then click on the page that is underneath an be directed to that page information
The folded corner may also display a semi-transparent reflection of the area of the corner of the page underneath as it increases and decreases in size.
ExamplePeel Ad Advertising Methods. May be seen from this example at the top right-hand corner of his page. This initial corner may be quite small, although this will get larger if the mouse is moved over it. The larger, peeeled, image may then be click on linking to another
web-site. Go ahead try it out.
It is possible to feature Peel ads in more than one corner of the page.
Advice: This may produce more result for the page underneath the main page. Curiosity may produce a
higher click-through than Pop-Ups.
Similar to Pop-Ups
but the user may feel
like they are in more control. This method may get initial traffic put user off going on sites in the longer term.
If you do use Page Peel then use a web page that load quickly explain any special offers, has some copywriting, etc and has an appeal to target that the page which the
Page Peel loads from.
