First a lot of users will know about doorway pages. For those who don’t this
is a site with Keyword rich Meta Tags and Keywords rich pages that links to your
main site. The idea is to have doorway pages that are very search engine
friendly resulting in better rankings.
Doorway pages like this may have some use for search engines which don’t use
humans to list sites as humans are likely to realise that the site is a doorway
page and not list it, they may even block the main page.
There is a way round this, a way that is very likely to get you listed.
That is to construct Content Doorway Pages. (not really a doorway site but a totally
separate site with different content).
Basically this is a separate site, with a different URL, that provides useful content.
That is a proper website
that is able to stand on it’s on merits. I would recommended Content that has
very little or no relevance to your main page. For example take a look at A
Great Portal this has links most of our sites. Note that while some have
some relevance to each other some are non-relevant to each other.
You may be wondering why the non-relevance is recommended. You may think,
“Surely it is better to have sites which do have relevance so that people are
more likely to following links.” This is true but this can be achieved using
other methods including exchange links with sites similar to yours.
The idea here is more about getting listed under different Keywords with search
engines so that at least one of your sites is found. This site may have a few
links to your main page but will provide other useful Content relevant to the Keywords.
For example using Yahoo (http://www.yahoo.com/)
to search on “Compare Bargains” should return links to our Compare
Bargains and Discounts site (http://www.comparebargains.com). Anyone
clicking on this link will find useful links to Compare Bargains and Discounts
as well as find links to our other sites.
Our Bargains and Discounts Site has a page for “Computer
Software” this also
has links to “Free:
Jigsaw puzzles to download and use off-line for free” (http://www.free-jigsaws.com/).
This is another site of ours, which has links to other sites of ours. Note that
this page, and others, provides links to other sites outside, affiliated links
to generate income in the case of links on this site. This give uses useful
Content, meaning that users are more likely to stay bit longer and follow links
i.e. the site is “Sticky” because of links to other sites.
So people searching on say “Compare Bargains” will find links to that site
and if clicked on they will find links to our other sites. So will most search engines.
Our other sites also have links back so that traffic is generated back to our other sites. Just as users
searching on “Compare Bargains"
may find our Compare
Bargains and Discounts site and follow links to our other sites.
I call this “Cross Population Traffic Producer” because each site stands in
its own right, providing useful Content by itself while providing links to our
other site. Traffic is generated backwards and forwards increasing visits.
By having a number of different sites you will be able to experiment more with different Search Engine Optimization e.g. Keywords, RSS, Really Simple Syndication, Press Release, etc. techniques. Even using different Search Engine Optimization techniques for different sites to try to obtain higher listings and more visitor's from or different search engines. Different search engines may use different search methods, (algorithms), and you could use your different sites to target these different search methods.
Generally there should be no, ( 0% ), or very little duplication of content on sites.
Have you ever been in a Supermarket for a newspaper and come out with a newspaper and some other items? You weren’t even looking for those other items.... The same can sometimes apply to websites. Don't just think about ranking think about how people sometime shop.Advice: Generally Recommended for search engine listings. Will provide links back to your sites. You have control over content etc. Will cost for hosting of new website, website name, maintenance and promotion.
Avoid interlinking of sites within your own domain. Google can perceive interlinking when they are on the same domain and this action may be penalize.
Exchange Links directly with a site which directly links back to your may not benefit in search engine ranking, (remember this may be more beneficial to real people finding and clicking on your link). Therefore it is suggested that where possible you link to a different site owned by the person linking to you.
More websites bring more traffic. Although there is a cost for hosting and maintenance. This is a good way to increase links to you and boost traffic. Will provide links back to your sites. You have control over content etc. Will cost for hosting of new website, website name, maintenance and promotion.May be uses as a Marketing Funnel
